Motorola Dext Mobile Phone Review

The Motorola Dext is a sturdy Smartphone weighing 163 grams, based on the Google Android operating system and also the first. There is a slide out QWERTY keyboard and versatile touch screen display making texting, e-mailing and using the internet quite easy. The Android OS system enables the user to download more apps from the Android market making the phone more resourceful.

It has installed it’s very own Motoblur software that brings together the contacts and messaging options from services such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Google so that everything is in one place – namely a phone with social skills.

The home screen can be customised to the user’s content; this includes adding Facebook news, Twitter news, MySpace and Google onto the homepage so the user can keep up to date with the latest social news from friends and more. Even the messaging feature is different, thanks to the Motoblur software, the messages are shown up with the associated sender with their photo shown up and the message linked to them. This is probably the most useful social networking phone around having all networks in one place.

The Motorola Dext comes with a 5 megapixel camera with automatic focus, video capturing in MPEG-4 and geo-tagging function. There is up to 6 hours talk time and 13.5 days worth of standby time. The phone comes with Accuweather for the latest weather forecast, Google maps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity allowing the user to be connected wherever they are.

Like many other phones, the Motorola Dext also comes with a music player but allows music to be played in various file types such as MP3, WAV, MIDI, AMR NB, AAC, AAC+ which is more than the average phones on the market. The Motorola Dext phone is ideal for those who enjoys social networking because everything is linked in one place so it saves the user a lot of time.
