Nexus One : New Mobile Phone Launched by Google

The Google Nexus One, first phone launched by Google and manufactured by HTC a Taiwanese based company. It is a direct competition to the Apple iPhone with some of the features outperforming them such as the 5 megapixels camera compared

to the 3 megapixels on the iPhone, lighter than the iPhone, slimmer and narrower making it stand out even more.

Soon to launch in the UK and offered on the Vodafone network, it has a 3.7-inch widescreen AMOLED touch screen which is 800 x 480 pixels that gives an excellent display compared to any other phone on the market. The phone will be able to capture videos at 720 x 480 pixels with autofocus and 2x digital zoom and an LED flash to take photos however dark it is. It has an in-built Google search engine enabling users to search for anything they want and a news headline and weather displayed on the homepage of the phone which the user will be able to read the latest news and find out the latest weather.

The Google Nexus One uses an Android operating system and applications are available to download on the Android market; there are already a number of different games and applications developed within the Android market that people can download for free or purchase. It is has 1 GHz processor, 512MB flash capacity of RAM and a micro SD card of 4GB which can be expandable to 32GB (these micro SD cards are available off-the-shelf in a number of online stores).

The opening and closing of programs are quicker than many other phones on the market and it has an easy navigation which is no different to the other smart phones around. Getting used to the phone should be no problem either as most of the functions is pretty easy to use, with so many iPhone users, the Google Nexus One will definitely make the user stand out.
